Leika Kihara

Leika Kihara is an award-winning journalist at Reuters with nearly three decades of experience covering the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy. As Chief Policy Correspondent in Tokyo, she leads Reuters’ coverage of Japan’s economy and central bank. Her investigative reporting on the Bank of Japan’s monetary experiment under then-Governor Haruhiko Kuroda won the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Award in 2014, and she received the Reuters Journalist of the Year Award in both 2012 and 2022.

Leika holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Waseda University and is a member of the Japan Society of Monetary Economics.

At BRIDGE Summit, Leika will share insights on economic policy shifts, global monetary trends, and the role of financial journalism in shaping market understanding.
